Embark on a two-day monk experience program, immersing yourself in the traditions and culture of Japan while exploring the daily life of a monk.
In this program, participants will dive into the monk’s lifestyle, experiencing their daily routines and spiritual practices. Wearing personalized work robes and wooden clogs, you’ll engage in training activities such as making prayer beads, sutra copying, chanting, chores, zazen meditation, and mindful eating practices.
The meal experiences go beyond enjoyment, providing a tangible understanding of daily and non-daily concepts. The first evening features a special “Hare” (celebratory) dinner at a locally renowned sushi restaurant. For breakfast the next day, you’ll prepare your own meal, using a traditional cooking method with a hagama (feathered pot), offering a luxurious culinary experience.
